Many community involvement practitioners suffer from the nagging feeling that their employee volunteer programs are good but not yet great. However, their attempts at improvement have been hampered by the absence of useful benchmarking information and the absence of a guiding management framework capable of predicting success. How can you move your employee volunteer program from good to great?

The Boston College Center’s new one-day workshop is designed to answer this question.

In this one-day workshop Bea Boccalandro will offer support to employee volunteer program managers on both fronts. She will share findings from the leading benchmarking study, “Mapping Success in Employee Volunteering: The Drivers of Effectiveness for Employee Volunteering and Giving Programs and Fortune 500 Performance”. She will also help participants use the benchmarking data and the associated Drivers of Effectiveness management framework to identify potential improvements that can propel their programs from good to great.

One-day workshop objectives:

Learn about the promise that employee volunteering holds for 21st century corporate citizenship

Discover what it takes to develop and manage a program that generates impact in the community and on the business

Identify best practices from companies around the globe

Plan how to take your employee volunteer program to its next level

We are offering this one-day event in two locations on two different dates.

As the operating environment for business continues to change, more is expected of companies, even when fewer resources are available. As a result the bar for community involvement managers continues to rise. Community needs are great and there is an expectation to make a meaningful difference. Additionally community involvement managers must do more than align community programs with the business. They must add demonstrable value to the business.

Unfortunately you can’t do everything and you can’t be all things to all people. Choices must be made. So what choices will your company make? What will you do? Perhaps more importantly, what WON’T you do?

The Boston College Center’s course Developing a Community Involvement Strategy will help you create or refine your community involvement program to provide maximum value to the community and to the company. This highly interactive workshop will provide a proven process to move your community involvement program to a higher level of impact. You will also work with peers in applying the concepts discussed, explore best practices and developing real strategies to remove obstacles to achieving exceptional performance.

Making informed choices, doing more with less and increasing impact are critical to continued success in community involvement, now more than ever before.
