John:

I enjoyed reading your thoughts on moral captitalism and ethics. Corporate Social Responsibility captures for many a new way of thinking. Much like a new pair of nice shoes, it may take a bit of "working them in" to be just right. Here in the field we do work to do what is best for the customer and right for the patient, but how do we insure that it stays front of mind in the day to day of running a territory? One way that I believe is to focus on the basics of customer service. I have my own Top Ten Rules for Customer Service that I wrote to present to my Region a few years ago which take your ideas on moral capitalism down to the grass roots or "street" level. ....And they are a Customer Service spin on the Golden Rule approach that you suggest. Very nice article and thank you for your thoughts.

Hi John -

Thanks for writing this. I've had similar ideas spinning around in my head but not being an economist (I'm in human services) I was having difficulty putting my thoughts together and putting them under one "header". "Moral Capitalism", "Citizenship Capitalism", "Main Street Capitalism". Vs Wall Street Capitalism. Love it! Also just wondering if you have read Stiglitz? Anyway, Well done and thank you for your thoughts!

Best,
