David Jones, author of ‘Who Cares Wins’, to speak at Center conference

By

David Jones, an author, advertising executive, and counselor to world leaders, has been added as a keynote speaker at our 2012 International Corporate Citizenship Conference, March 25-27, in Phoenix. He will share practical knowledge and insights into how business – in this age of social media – can combine success and profitability while delivering social value.

In his new book, “Who Cares Wins: Why good business is better business”, Jones describes his concept of the Social Business Idea™ – activities that are good for society and designed to drive profitable growth or make major savings.  He frames the 20-year evolution of socially responsible business through the prism of the Age of Image, the Age of Advantage, and the current Age of Damage. Jones believes that “social media is forcing businesses, politicians and leaders to be more socially responsible. It will reward those who are. And remove those who aren’t.”

Honored by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader, Jones has distinguished himself as an industry visionary and proponent of corporate responsibility and social change. He is the youngest global CEO in the history of advertising, heading both Havas and Euro RSCG Worldwide. He was the driving force behind Kofi Annan’s Campaign for Climate Justice, one of the most successful cause campaigns in history with 18 million people signing up as climate allies. Jones is also co-founder of One Young World, described by CNN as the “junior Davos,” a nonprofit organization that provides brilliant young people with a global platform through which to effect positive change.
