We’re off and running (well, almost)
By Susan Thomas, Assistant Director, Electronic Communications, Boston College Center
We’re just a few days away from our 2010 International Corporate Citizenship Conference. Some folks are already on-site at the Community Involvement Leadership Roundtable meeting, where they are tackling the issue of water and how they, as community involvement leaders, should help shape their companies’ responses. The rest of you have until Sunday to prepare, and since we’ve got a very full two-plus days planned for you, we suggest you rest up and prepare to leave the office behind so you’ll be fully engaged during the time you have with us in Boston.
Among the voices you will hear are the perspectives of a CFO, senior VP of public policy and chief diversity officer. Breakout sessions will explore wide-ranging topics such as measuring impact, influencing culture, creating effective communications strategies and even using stakeholder activists as allies. We will also challenge you to be forward thinking: What is the future of community involvement and do corporate foundations reflect these changing times? We’ll examine the influence of Generation Y in the work force and discuss how to cultivate future leaders — and so much more.
On Monday evening we’ll be announcing the winner of our second annual Corporate Citizenship Film Festival, which will also be announced here in this blog. You can view the ten finalists, along with the other 20 submissions, on our web site at www.BCCorporateCitizenship.org/FilmFest2010.
We’ll be live-blogging from the conference here, and will be linking to others who blog about it as well. You can also follow the conference on twitter: http://twitter.com/search?q=%23bcccc_conf.
Finally, this year we will be posting all post-conference materials – keynote session videos, breakout session presentations and other resources – in our online Member Community. If you’re not already a member, now is the time to join. The community is only for members of the Center, and is by invitation only. Contact us if you need an invitation.
