Boston event to focus on how economy is impacting philanthropy and corporate citizenship

By Peggy Connolly, Director of Marketing & Communications, Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship

To help business and nonprofit executives in the Boston area navigate their organization through today’s changing economic currents, the public relations firm Solomon McCown & Company is presenting a breakfast event on June 22 at the Boston Harbor Hotel. The event, titled “Corporate Social Responsibility: Creating and Communicating High Impact Strategy,” will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.

This is part of a series of issue-focused events offered by Solomon McCown & Company. Click here to RSVP (RSVP@solomonmccown.com) or call 617-933-5278.

Renee Loth, editorial page editor of the The Boston Globe, will moderate the discussion featuring three expert panelists:

  • Ann Fudge, former chairman & CEO of Young & Rubicam Brands
  • Ellen Remmer, President & CEO, The Philanthropic Initiative
  • Helene Solomon, CEO, Solomon McCown & Company

Many of the most successful corporate leaders have achieved success beyond the bottom line-creating a legacy of corporate citizenship in their companies. But have they been successful in communicating the intent and impact of their strategy to shareholders, consumers and the media? Will the new economic reality redefine corporate philanthropy and what it means to be perceived as authentic? These questions and more will be examined during the forum.

Joining the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship as event sponsors are the Center for Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School, the Massachusetts Business Roundtable and the Commonwealth Institute.
