By Susan Thomas, Assistant Director, Electronic Communications, Boston College Center

After serving for more than twelve years as Executive Director of the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship, Brad Googins has returned to a senior faculty position at the Carroll School. In a statement released today, Dean Andrew C. Boynton said:

“I want to thank Brad Googins for his energetic and inspirational leadership. Brad’s colleagues at Boston College and the many professionals associated with the Center’s membership network who are active in its research initiatives and partake of its essential professional development programs have all benefited from his steadfast commitment to the values and worth of corporate responsibility.

“Today more than ever, corporate citizenship remains central to aligning global economic and sustainable prosperity, and we are all fortunate that as a senior faculty member in the Carroll School’s Organization Studies Department, Brad will be uniquely positioned to bring further intellectual resources to bear on the Center’s work.”

Dean Boynton also said: “It is my intention and that of Boston College to continue to draw upon the experience and wisdom of the Center’s remarkable membership base and of its staff’s energy, expertise, and commitment in order to further develop the Center’s ability to be an influential thought leader around the world.

“I am confident the changes at the Center for Corporate Citizenship and the Carroll School of Management’s plans to position the Center will ensure continued success.”

  1. My friend!

as somebody who has always been inspired by your work and the discussions with you, I am glad and sad at the same time. I know you will do a great job at the Carroll School of Management, just as at the Centre – and sad, as I will miss you meeting you somewhere on this planet discussing the next stages of Social Responsibility over a Vietnamese breakfast or an Ukrainian dinner. Have fun and all the best to you.

    Martin

  2. I would like to recognise the enormous contribution which Brad personally and the Center for Corporate Citizenship as a whole has made to furthering knowledge and practice around the world about the way that companies can embed a commitment to responsible business.

First, under the founder director: the late Ed Burke and now with Brad, the Center has been generous in sharing its knowledge and expertise; and building networks of reflective practitioners.

The Center is a great resource and asset for Boston College and the field of responsible business.

  3. David-
This is high praise, coming from someone who is also a recognized leader in the field. Thank you for your kind words – I will be sure to pass them along to Brad.
