Although our region faces a number of social and community issues we are trying to showcase what can be done and change the way that we communicate within and between communities. Add to the fact that the UK is undergoing significant demographic changes and economic upheaval, we face considerable challenges to ensure that all our citizens will be fully included in the forthcoming explosion in digital technology. This has been recognised by the UK and EU government in funding a new Connections to Opportunities project in order to reach out to those individuals that are in danger of total economic and social exclusion. I would like to explore the possibility of showcasing your films from the festival as a means to showing our citizens what can be achieved.
